Dear Student,
The acceleration of the ball after it is dropped inside the lift wrt ground will be " g ". This is because as soon as the ball looses its contact from the hands of the man it has nothing to do with the lift the only force that acts on it is g.
According to the man who himself is accelerating with the speed of a downward in his frame due to Pseudo concept the acceleration of the ball comes to be less than g as he himself is going down by "a" so for him the answer is g-a.
