Ultrasonic --> longitudnal waves having frequency above 20000 Hz are called ultrasonic waves .they are waves produced by the heard and by bats , they contains large energy and used to determine depth of sea, crack in metals etc.

Infrasonic ----> longitudnal wavs having frequency below 20 Hz are called infrasonic waves . they cannot be heard by human being they are produced during earthquakes and can be heard by snakes .
