Open in App
Solution

Sunken stomata are mainly found in xerophytic plants like cactus. It is a type of adaptive feature found in desert plants to reduce water loss. The stomata instead of being present on the surface of leaf, are present sunken into the leaf. This adaptation is to avoid direct scorching sunlight and to reduce water loss due to transpiration.
