Open in App
Solution

The unorganized sector consists of casual workers; self employed persons in un-organized sector and private households; and others employed in organized and unorganized enterprises that do not receive fixed or regular wages, are not eligible either for paid, sick or annual leave or for any social security benefits given by the employer. Their terms of employment render them liable to be terminated at any time. The major portion of workforce in India is employed in unorganised sector.

Organised sector consists of workers in private or public sector that receive regular salaries, emoluments and other benefits including leaves and social security in the form of provident funds and gratuity. They work under fixed terms of employment and cannot be terminated in a casual manner without notice.

Hope this resolves your query.
