Solution

There can be three possible outcomes.

(i)Without root hair, the capacity of osmosis of a plant will be greatly reduced. We know that plants absorb water from the soil by osmosis. The cells in the root hair are especially adapted for this as they provide a large surface area . The large surface area hastens up the speed of osmosis . Since water is the fundamental reactant in the process of photosynthesis, the Rose plant will not be able to manuacture food, will shrivel up and die. and will die.

(ii) If Paheli places the uprooted part of the rose plant in a suitable medium which contains rooting hormone powder for better plant growth, then with regular watering the stem will form new roots.

(iii) The stem might not be able to adapt to a different kind of soil and might die.
