Plants generally take up nitrates and nitrites and convert them into amino acids which are used to make carbohydrates.
One way of converting Atmospheric nitrogen to nitrates and nitrites is by Lightning. During lightning becasue of high temperatures and pressure the atmospeheric nitrogen converts into oxides of nitrogen and mix with water to form nitric acid and fall down , which is also known as Acid Rain and the plants take up the nitrates. So ,Indirectly is Acid Rain good for plants ??
name the physical and biological process which the nitrogen molecule is converted into nitrites and nitrates
