Plot the graphs of the following equations on the same co-ordinate system. [4 MARKS]

(i) y = 2x - 3

(ii) x + y = 6

Graphs: 2 Marks each

First we should prepare table for y = 2x - 3 and draw the corresponding graph. Then we should prepare table for x + y = 6, i.e. y = - x + 6 and draw the corresponding graph.

y = 2x - 3

$\begin{matrix} x & 0 & 1 & 2 y & - 3 & - 1 & 1 (x, y) & (0, - 3) & (1, - 1) & (2, 1) \end{matrix}$

x + y = 6 i.e. y = -x + 6

$\begin{matrix} x & 0 & 1 & 2 y & 6 & 5 & 4 (x, y) & (0, 6) & (1, 5) & (2, 4) \end{matrix}$
