During diastolic (relaxing) phase , the blood gets refilled in heart. As a result, the blood pressure in blood vessesls drop and this pressure is called diastolic pressure.
Similarly during, systolic (contracting) phase, the heart pushes blood away to different body parts. In this phase, an increase in pressure placed on blood vessels can be observed, and this pressure is called systolic pressure.
