Solution

The correct option is A 1 and 2 only
Explanation:

In November 1927, the British Government appointed the Indian Statutory Commission, known popularly after the name of its Chairman as the Simon Commission, to go into the question of further constitutional reform. All the members of the Commission were Englishmen. This announcement was greeted by a chorus of protest from all Indians. The Commission submitted its report in 1930. Its main recommendations were as follow:

Statement 1 is correct: Dyarchy was to be given up and the provincial legislative council was to be enlarged.

Statement 2 is correct: A federation represented in both British India and the princely states was supposed to be set up. It was stated that the viceroy's executive council (the cabinet) could not be made as responsible to the popularly elected legislature.

Statement 3 is incorrect: The High court was to be under the administrative control of the Government of India. All political parties condemned the report as partial and inadequate.
