Question

Q3.when a magnet is bought close to a wire why the magnetic field around the wire increases?

Open in App
Solution

A current carrying wire produces a magnetic field in the form of concentric circles. The direction of magnetic field can be determined by using the right hand thumb rule .

Here in this question, we can use the Lorentz formula

According to this,

F=BIlsinα
For a straight wire, α=0

F=BIl

B=F/Il

Clearly B is inversely proportional to distance

So as distance decreases, the magnetic field increases
