Let the marked price of the article be $x$, discount = 15 %

$\therefore$ Amount of discount = ₹ $x$ $\times$ $\frac{15}{100}$
$\therefore$ Cost of the article after discount = ₹ ( $x$ - $\frac{3x}{20}$) = $\frac{17x}{20}$

Since the sales tax is 10 % on reduced price

Amount of sales tax = ₹ $\frac{17x}{20}$ $\times$ $\frac{10}{100}$ = $\frac{17x}{200}$

$\therefore$ Net amount to be paid = ₹ $\frac{17x}{200}$ + $\frac{17x}{20}$

Given that the amount paid = ₹ 374
$\therefore$ $\frac{17x}{200}$ + $\frac{17x}{20}$ = 374
$x$ = ₹ 400
