Red blood cells are also known as erythrocytes. The synthesis of erythrocytes is called erythropoiesis. The average number of RBCs is between 4.2 and 6.2 million per cubic millimeter. RBCs are synthesized from bone marrow. They are biconcave in shape and most of the mammals do not have the nucleus in RBCs. Hence, B and C statements are incorrect.
