Solution

The correct option is D A and C are correct
Early Greeks like Hippocrates and the Indian Ayurveda system believed that health is a state of mind and body where a balance of certain humors (body fluids) like blood, phlegm, black bile and yellow bile is required. It is called the good humor hypothesis. At that time it was thought that a person with black bile belonging to a hot personality would have fever. As per their belief the nature of the person depends on the humor which is dominant in his body.

Phlegm is believed to be produced by lungs and brain. A person with more of this humor is believed to be low spirited and have white hair.

Blood was believed to be produced exclusively by the liver. A person with more of this humor is enthusiastic and active.

Yellow bile is produced from the gallbladder and the person with more of this humor is believed to be ambitious, aggressive and low tempered.

Black bile is produced from the spleen and the person with more of this humor is believed to be lazy and fearful with black hair.

William Harvey is an English physician who discovered that the flow of blood in humans happens in one direction and he described in detail about the systemic circulation (movement of blood from heart to body and back to heart). This discovery of blood circulation and demonstration of normal body temperature in persons with black bile using a thermometer resulted in the disapproval of the good humor hypothesis.

Hence statements A and C are correct whereas B and D are wrong.
