Solution

The correct option is C I and II are correct and III is incorrect
Tropical zone, temperate zone, and polar zone are the three climate zones of Earth. The temperate zone is located between the equator and the North and South poles. The weather in this zone is affected by both warm (from tropical zone) and cold air (from poles) at different times during the year and hence it changes with the seasons and is relatively less constant. So, statement II is correct.

The average temperature of the coldest months in the temperate zone (above −3 °C) is lower than that of the tropical zones (above 18 °C). Hence statement III is incorrect.

As per the studies on temperate regions, it has been proposed that this region had been subjected to frequent glaciations in the past. All the above reasons resulted in less biodiversity in temperate regions. Hence statement I is correct.
