Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass is 1.6 and absolute refractive index of glass is 1.5. Find out the absolute refractive index of diamond.

The correct option is A 2.4
Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass $${n}_{dg}=1.6$$
Refractive index of glass $${n}_{g}=1.5$$
Refractive index of diamond $${n}_{d}=?$$
Refractive index of diamond with respect to glass  $${n}_{dg}=\dfrac{{n}_{d}}{{n}_{g}}$$
So,the  refractive index of diamond $${n}_{d}={n}_{dg}\times{n}_{g}$$
or, $${n}_{d}=1.6\times1.5=2.4$$
hence,the refractive index of diamond is 2.4
