Answer :

Given : Two ribbons which are 80 cm and 90 cm long .

And to find the length of the longest piece of ribbon that she can cut ,so that no ribbon is wasted , we find HCM of 80 and 90 .

80 = 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 2 $\times$ 5

90 = 2 $\times$ 3 $\times$ 3 $\times$ 5

So,

HCM ( 80 and 90 ) = 2 $\times$ 5 = 10

So,

The length of the longest piece of ribbon that she can cut ,so that no ribbon is wasted = 10 cm ( Ans )
