Solution

Loss = CP - SP
= 60x - 500 - 4x
= 56x -500
loss % = loss/CP × 100
× = (56x - 500)/60x × 100
6x^2 = 560x - 5000
3 x^2 - 280x + 2500 = 0
3x^2 - 30x - 250x + 2500 = 0
3x ( x - 10) -250( x - 10)
(x-10)(3x-250)=0
x = 10 or x= 250/3

when x=250/3
c.p = (250/3)*60
= Rs.5000

when x=10
c.p = 10*60
= 600

so cp of the saree will be Rs 5000 or Rs 600
