Solution

The correct option is B a, b, c, d and e
Introduction to RNA
RNA or ribonucleic acid is a single stranded nucleic acid composed of repeating units of ribonucleotides consisting of ribose sugar, nitrogenous base and phosphate groups. The repeating units are connected by phosphodiester bonds.
Genetic material
RNA is the genetic material in many RNA viruses such as the tobacco mosaic virus.

Messenger
Messenger RNAs or mRNAs carry genetic information from the chromosomal DNA to the cytoplasm where they serve as templates for protein synthesis. The mRNAs are so named because they help to deliver genetic messages from the nuclear DNA to the ribosomes for protein synthesis.
Adapter molecule
The transfer RNAs or tRNAs are small sized ribonucleic acids which can recognise codons on the mRNA and bind to respective charged amino acids and bring them to the site of protein synthesis on the ribosome. Thus they are known as adapter RNAs.
Structural molecule
Ribosomal RNAs or rRNAs form the structural components of ribosomes.
Catalytic molecule
Certain RNA molecules, known as ribozymes, have the ability to catalyse biochemical reactions and can act as enzymes.
Final answer
(D) a, b, c, d and e
