Roopa has cut a sheet of paper into the shape of a square and a rectangle, in such away that the area of the square and the rectangle are equal. If the side of the square sheet is 20 cm and the breadth of the rectangular sheet is 10 cm, find the length of the rectangular sheet.

The correct option is C 40 cm
The side of the square sheet 'a' = 20 cm
The breadth of the rectangular sheet 'b' = 10 cm
The area of the square sheet = a2 = 20 × 20 = 400 cm2
As per the given data, area of the rectangular sheet = Area of the square = 400 cm2
Area of the rectangular sheet = 400 cm2
A= l × b = 400 cm2
l × 10 = 400 cm2
l = 40
So, the length of the rectangular sheet = l = 40 cm.
