Solve :
$2x+3y=2$ and $x-2y=8$

$2x+3y=2$ ........$\left(1\right)$

$x-2y=8$ ........$\left(2\right)$

From $\left(2\right)$ we have $x=8+2y$

Put $x=8+2y$ in $\left(1\right)$ we get

$2(8+2y)+3y=2$

$\Rightarrow 16+4y+3y=2$

$\Rightarrow 7y=2-16=-14$

$\Rightarrow y=\frac{-14}{2}=-7$

Put $y=-7$ in $x=8+2y$ we get

$x=8+2\times -7=8-14=-6$

$\therefore x=-6$ and $y=-7$
