Solve the equations:

(4) 4x – 5 = 3(x + 2)

4x – 5 = 3 (x + 2)
4x – 5 = 3x + 6
Subtracting 3x from both sides, we obtain:
4x – 5 – 3x = 3x + 6 – 3x
x – 5 = 6
Adding 5 to both sides, we obtain:
x – 5 + 5 = 6 + 5
x = 11
