Question

Solve the following equation by trial and error method:
$$3m-14=4$$

Solution

We use trial and error method,

$$3m-14=4$$

Put, $$m=0$$
$$3(0)-14=4$$
 $$\implies -14\neq 4$$

Put, $$m=1$$
$$3(1)-14=4$$
 $$\implies-11\neq 4$$

 Similarly check for $$p=2,3,4,5,6$$

So, for $$p=6$$
We get,

$$3(6)-14=4$$
$$\implies4= 4$$

Hence $$m=6$$
