Solve using BODMAS rule and arrange the following in ascending order: (starting from the top moving down)

• A. $40-8+18÷6\times 4$
• B. $100÷5+4\times 8$
• C. $25+180÷9\times 4-5$
• D. $24\times 5+8$

1. $40-8+\underset{–}{18÷6}\times 4$
$=40-8+\underset{–}{3\times 4}$
$=40-8+12$
$=40+4=44$

2. $\underset{–}{100÷5}+4\times 8$
$=20+\underset{–}{4\times 8}$
$=20+32$
$=52$

3. $25+\underset{–}{180÷9}\times 4-5$
$=25+\underset{–}{20\times 4}-5$
$=25+80-5$
$=105-5=100$

4. $(24\times 5+8)$
$=120+8$
$=128$

Hence the arrangement of the numbers will be $44<52<100<128i.e:(40-8+18÷6\times 4)<(100÷5+4\times 8)<(25+180÷9\times 4-5)<(24\times 5+8)$
