In 1961, Goa, and Daman and Diu, two Portuguese colonies became a part of the Indian federation.
In 1962, tensions between India and China led to the Indo-China war, fought on the McMahon line.
In 1965, India and Pakistan went to war over Kashmir. Pakistan’s oppressive policies in East Pakistan resulted in a big movement there. This movement was led by Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and his organisation, ‘Mukti Bahini’.
