The layers of the atmosphere are as follows:
1. Troposphere: It is the lowest layer of the atmosphere where most of its mass is present. All weather occurs within this layer.
2. Stratosphere: This layer contains the 'good' ozone that protects us from the harmful UV rays of the sun.
3. Mesosphere: It is the third layer of atmosphere. Coldest place on Earth
4. Thermosphere: It is in this layer that the UV rays from the sun cause photoionisation and hence free ions are present here (ionosphere). The official boundary between atmosphere and space is present here.
5. Exosphere: It is the upper most layer of the atmosphere where satellites are present. Satellites orbiting the earth are present here
