  • A mixture is formed when atoms or molecules of the same or different particles combine with each other physically in any ratio.
  • For example - Air is a mixture of gases like Carbon dioxide, Nitrogen, Oxygen, etc; dust, and water vapors.
  • Some properties of mixtures are as follows -
  1. Mixtures always show the properties of their constituent substances.
  2. Mixtures have variable composition.
  3. Mixtures do not have fixed melting points, boiling points, etc.
  4. A mixture can be either homogeneous or heterogeneous.
