Question

State how Newton's second law of motion differs from first law of motion?

Open in App
Solution

The first law states that every object has a tendency to resist a change in their state of motion, unless an external force acts on it.

The second law states that the force applied on an object is directly proportional to the product of the mass of the object and the acceleration produced in the object due to the applied force.

The first law helps us know whether or not a net force is acting on a body. While the second law helps us to find value of the net force acting on the body.
