State one chemical test between each of the following pairs:
Manganese dioxide & Copper $(I I)$ oxide.

Solution

Both are black coloured solid. When manganese dioxide is heated with conc. $H C l$ , chlorine gas is not evolved but with copper oxide, greenish yellow coloured gas i.e chlorine gas is evolved.
