Statement 1 is true and statement 2 is false. Prithviraj Chauhan or Prithviraja III was the greatest ruler of the Chahamanas. He fended off the Ghurid army of Sultan Muhammed Ghori at the first battle of Tarain in 1192 CE. The Ghurid army attacked again in 1192 CE, and this time they surprised the Chauhans. They attacked before dawn. Prithviraj Chauhan lost the second battle of Tarain. This established a long period of Muslim rule in India. So Prithviraj Chauhan was the last Hindu ruler of Delhi.
