Solution

The correct option is A Both the statements are correct
Forests act as a natural absorber of rainwater and allow it to seep. When rainwater falls on leaves of trees and plants, it does not fall directly on the ground. It drips slowly on the forest ground and does not stagnate. Thus, trees prevent flooding. Hence, deforestation will affect the frequency of floods.
When forests get destructed, forest products become unavailable.
Hence, both the statements are correct.
