The ratio of the total students in Primary School and High School combined to that of Upper Primary school is 2:1. The ratio of number of teachers in Primary schools to High School is 3:1. What is the number of teachers in High School?

  1. (b) 63

  2. (c) 546

  3. (d) 21

  4. (a) 1638

Solution

The correct option is C

(d) 21

Number of students in Primary and High School combined = 3276×23=2184

Number of teachers in Primary and High School combined = 2184/26 = 84; (as the Teacher-Pupil ratio is 26 for both);

Given, the ratio of teachers in Primary to High School = 3:1;

Number of teachers in High School = 84×14=21
