Solution
A redox reaction takes place between sulfur and sulfuric acid, forming sulphur dioxide and water. Sulphur is oxidised to sulphur dioxide by hot and concentrated sulphuric acid, and the acid also gets reduced to the same product (sulphur oxide) by sulphur. So H2SO4 is reduced. Hence sulphuric acid as as an Oxidising agent.
