Solution

The correct option is A Hyder Ali attacked Arcot.
<!--td {border: 1px solid #ccc;}br {mso-data-placement:same-cell;}--> With the help from Nizam of Hyderabad, Hyder Ali of Mysore attacked Arcot in 1767 CE. The king of Arcot already had an alliance in place with the British; this incident triggered the First Anglo-Mysore War. Both the sides suffered a few setbacks. Haider reached till Madras, which drove the British into a panic mode; they were forced to enter into an agreement - the Madras Treaty - in 1769 CE.
