We know that
Area of the reactangle $=$ length $\times$ breadth

Now, factorising the given expression,
$x^{2} + 7 x + 12$
$= x^{2} + 4 x + 3 x + 12$
$= x (x + 4) + 3 (x + 4)$
$= (x + 4) (x + 3)$

Hence, the length of the rectangle is $(x + 4)$
