If a circle is inscribed in a square, then the diameter of the circle is equal to the side of the square.

Let the radius of the circle be r cm.

Now,

Diameter of the circle = Side of the square

⇒ 2r = 6 cm

⇒ r = 3 cm

∴ Area of the inscribed circle =πr2=π×32=9π cm2

The area of the circle that can be inscribed in a square of side 6 cm is 9π cm2 .
