The correct option is D 289 cm2
Area of a square = side2
Given ,area of orange square = 144 cm2
Hence length of the side of orange square = 144 = 12 cm
Similarly for the green square
Area of the green square = 25 cm2
Hence length of the side of green square = 25 = 5 cm
Length of the side of the square ABCD ,
AB = sum of the side of orange square and green square
= 12+5 = 17 cm
Area of ABCD = 172 = 289 cm2
