Area of a square = $sid{e}^2$
Given ,area of orange square = 144 $c{m}^2$
Hence length of the side of orange square = $\sqrt{1}44$ = 12 cm
Similarly for the green square
Area of the green square = 25 $c{m}^2$
Hence length of the side of green square = $\sqrt{2}5$ = 5 cm
Length of the side of the square ABCD ,
AB = sum of the side of orange square and green square
= 12+5 = 17 cm
Area of ABCD = ${17}^2$ = 289 $c{m}^2$
