Difference in earning in July from Jan = Rs. 1500 - Rs. 1200 = Rs. 300
So, increase in average = $\frac{300}{6}$ = Rs. 50
(\therefore\) Average earning from Feb to July = Rs 4200 + Rs. 50 = Rs. 4250

Conventional Approach:
Total exp. Jan - June $=4200\times 6=Rs.25200$
Total exp. Feb - June $=25200-1200=Rs.24000$
Total exp. Feb - July $=24000+1500=Rs.25500$
The average expenditure Feb - July $=\frac{25500}{6}=4250$
