The base of a prism is a right-angled triangle having its base and altitude as 10 cm and 24 cm, respectively. If the height of prism is 30 cm, what will be the lateral surface area?

Base of the prism is right-angled triangle having base and altitude as 10 cm and 24 cm respectively.

Third side of the triangle will be equal to

102+242=676=26 cm [1 mark]

Lateral surface area will be the area of three rectangles formed.

Area = 10×30+24×30+26×30

=30(10+24+26)

=30×60

=1,800 cm2 [1 mark]
