The cost of 11 pencils and 3 eraser is Rs 50 and cost of 8 pencils and 3 eraser is Rs 38 Find the cost of each pencil and each eraser

Let cost of 1 pencil be x
Let cost of 1 eraser be y
so, 11x + 3y = 50 -----(i)
8x + 3y = 38 ------(ii)
Subtract (i) and (ii)
11x - 8x = 12
3x = 12
x = 4

Substitute the value of x in eq(i),
11 x 4 + 3 y = 50
44 + 3y = 50
3y = 6
y = 2
So, cost of 1 pencil is Rs. 4 and erase is Rs.2
