Let child fare be ₹x and adult fare be ₹y

$\therefore$ 12x + 3y = 162..............(i)

8x + 3y = 122..................(ii)

Subtracting (ii) from (i) we get

4x = 40

$\Rightarrow$ x = ₹10

substituting x in (i) we get

12(10) + 3y = 162

$\Rightarrow$ y = ₹14
