Question

THE CURVED SURFACE AREA OF THE CYLINDER IS 1760 CM. SQUARE AND IT VOLUME IS 12320 CUBIC CM .FIND ITS HEIGHT.

Open in App
Solution

curved surface area of cylinder = 1760 cm²
&
volume of cylinder = 12320 cm³

we have to find:
height of cylinder= ?.

solution:-
we know that ;
curved surface area of cylinder = 2πrh
&
volume of cylinder = πr²h

here,
according to given;
C.S.Area = 1760

=> 2πrh = 1760

=> πrh = 1760 / 2 = 880

and
volume = 12320

=> πr²h = 12320

=> πrh × r = 12320

=> 880 × r = 12320

=> r = 12320 / 880

=> r = 14 cm

now,
putting the value of 'r' in
2πrh = 1760

=> 2π × 14 × h = 1760

=> h = 1760 / 28π

=> h = ( 1760 / 28 ) ×( 7/22 )

=> h = 12320 / 616

=> h = 20 cm
