Solution

The correct option is D A = Principal director of macromolecular traffic, B = Site of oxidative phosphorylation, C = Intracellular transport, D = Site of photophosphorylation, E = Storage of cell sap
A functions as the Principal director of macromolecular traffic. Its Golgi apparatus. Golgi apparatus is called so because it acts as an area for the storage processing and packaging of all the cell secretions. All macromolecules which are to be sent outside the cell, move through the golgi body. So golgi body is termed as "Director of macromolecular traffic in cell'' or 'middle men of the cell'. It takes part in synthesis of cell wall material.
B functions as the site of oxidative phosphorylation. It is mitochondria. Oxidative phosphorylation is the process in which ATP is formed as a result of the transfer of electrons from NADH or FADH2 to O2 by a series of electron carriers. This process, which takes place in mitochondria,is the major source of ATP synthesis.
C functions as the Intracellular transport, via membrane bound carriers,is essential for proper functioning of a cell. It, for instance, deliver newly synthesized proteins via Endoplasmic Reticulum (ER) and Golgi complex to the location where they can perform their function.
D is the photophosphorylation site which occurs in the chloroplast of a plant cell.
E is the site for the storage of cell sap. It is the vacuole.
So, the correct option is (D).
