The e/m ratio of anode rays is __________ for different gases in discharge tube.

Solution
Anode rays are produced under low pressure and high voltage. Under these conditions, after loosing electrons, it becomes positively charged ions and the stream of these cations are called anode rays. Since atomic masses (m) of different gases are different, consequently the e/m ratio also varies.
∴The e/m ratio of anode rays is different for different gases in the discharge tube.
