The floor of a rectangular hall has a perimeter $$250\;m$$. If the cost of painting the four walls at the rate of $$10\;per\;m^2$$ is $$15000$$, find the height of the hall.


Solution

Given perimeter of the floor of rectangular hall$$=250$$m
i.e., $$2(l+b)=250$$
$$l+b=125$$

Area of four walls$$=2h(l+b)$$
$$=2h(125)$$
$$=250h$$

Given cost of painting at rate $$10$$ per $$m^2=15000$$

i.e., $$10(LSA)=15000$$

$$10(250)h=15000$$

$$h=6$$m.
