Solution

## Finding the cost of the carpetLength of the hall is $=18\text{m}$Breadth of the hall is $=15\text{m}$So, Area of the hall $=\text{length×breadth}$ $\text{=18×15}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}\text{=270sq.m}$According to the question, floor is to be covered with carpet. So,Area of the carpet $=$ Area of the rectangular hallTherefore, area of the carpet $=270\text{sq.m}$But area $=\text{length×width}$Width of the carpet $=0.75\text{m}$So, length $=\frac{\text{area}}{\mathrm{Width}}$ $\text{=}\frac{\text{270}}{0.75}\phantom{\rule{0ex}{0ex}}\text{=360m}$ $\left(\frac{270}{75}×100=\frac{270}{\overline{)75}}×\overline{)100}=90×4=360\right)$Cost of the carpet per meter $=$$₹6$Cost of the carpet of length $360\text{m}$$=360×₹6=₹2160$Hence, cost of the carpet is $₹2160$ .
