The floor of a room 6.6 m long and 4.5 m wide is to be tiled. How many tiles will be required for this job if each square tile to be used has a side measuring 30 cm?

Length of the floor = 6.6 m
Breadth of the floor = 4.5 m
Area of the floor = length × breadth
= 6.6 × 4.5 m2
= 29.7 m2
Side of the square tile = 30 cm = 30100 m = 0.3 m
Area of the tile = Side × Side
= 0.3 × 0.3 m2
= 0.09 m2
Number of tiles =Area of the floorArea of the tile
=29.70.09tiles
= 330 tiles
