The given figure represents a weighing balance. The weights of some objects in the balance are given. Find the weight of each square and the circle.

From the given figure,

Consider only right hand side of balance, we get,
14 kg+weight of square = weight of circle+4 kg

Weight of square = Weight of circle-10 kg...(1)

Now Consider whole balance
20 kg + 20 kg = weight of square +14 kg+weight of circle+4 kg
Weight of circle + weight of square = 22 kg...(2)
From Equation (1) put value of Weight of Square in Equation (2)
Weight of circle + weight of circle - 10 kg=22 kg
2[weight of circle]=32kg
Weight of circle = 16 kg
Put value of weight of circle in equation (1)
weight of square + 10 kg=16 kg
Weight of square =6 kg
