Solution

The correct option is C 4
When interest is compounded, Amount A=P(1+R100)n
Given, Amount2P
=>P(1+25100)n2P
=>(1.25)n2
When, n=2
A=1.25×1.25=1.5625 which is not greater than or equal to 2
When, n=3
A=1.25×1.25×1.25=1.953125 which is not greater than or equal to 2
When, n=4
A=1.25×1.25×1.25×1.25=2.44140625 which is greater than 2
So, number of years should be atleast 4
