Let the breadth of a rectangle be x m.
Then, the length equals 3x m.

Area of a rectangle equals the product of length and breadth.
147 m2=x×3x=3x2
x2=49 m2
x=±7 m

Since breadth cannot be negative, we have x=7.

Length of the field is thrice its breadth. Hence, length is 21 m.
