Conjugated alkene in which double bonds are more substituted is the major product. When dibromoalkane is heated with $$\displaystyle CH_3OH/KOH$$, it undergoes dehydrohalogentation. Two molecules of $$\displaystyle HBr$$ are eliminated to form alkadiene.
